X-Rays showed a non-displaced fracture of Wilson's lower right leg.

They didn't do much with Boyd, who held them to one earned run over 6⅔ innings on four hits, two walks and six strikeouts. He left with Detroit holding onto a 3-2 lead, but its bullpen began the day with a 5.50 ERA, worst in baseball. He limped off the field with help and was replaced by Daniel Stumpf. Robbie Grossman hit a two-run off Joe Jimenez, Jason Castro had an RBI groundout and Granite, who entered as a pinch runner for Mauer, went deep against Blaine Hardy in his 93rd big league plate appearance. Ehire Adrianza, an early sub for injured Max Kepler, doubled to left center with one out and scored when Grossman followed with a single. The first run he allowed was unearned.

Tigers lefty Matt Boyd, coming off a complete-game one-hit shutout over the Chicago White Sox, left after 6 2/3 innings with a 3-2 lead.

It took Ervin Santana (16-8) 19 pitches to record an out in a two-run first, and 31-year-old journeyman Efren Navarro blasted a sixth-inning homer, just his second in the majors in 296 at-bats.

Instead of breaking a tie with the Texas Rangers for second-most sacrifice bunts (26) in the AL, the Twins turned their shortcomings into another cause for celebration.

But, with the count full, Escobar swung and floated a single over second baseman Ian Kinsler's head, scoring the go-ahead run. Candelario left in the ninth inning with a bruised right knee. After giving up a home run in the second inning, he gave up a couple hits and walked a batter in the third inning. The error was his fourth in nine games.

With their 37th come-from-behind victory of the season, the Twins on Sunday have a chance to sweep a four-game series at Comerica Park for the first time since 2004.

NOTES: Tigers OF Mikie Mahtook's return this season is doubtful after he was diagnosed with a Grade 2 left groin strain suffered Friday night, a recurrence of an injury that struck him earlier this month. "He's progressing through the concussion protocol, but he's not been cleared", Ausmus said.
