Emmys 2017: Was Jackie Hoffman's Angry Reaction to Losing Real?

Instead of plastering a smile on her face and graciously applauding the Big Little Lies star, Jackie, 56, could instead be seen yelling, "Damn it, damn it!" while rocking in her seat.

As Laura Dern's name was rattled off as victor of the Emmy for Best Supporting Actress in a Miniseries, one of her co-nominees in particular didn't put on much of a poker face.

Hoffman, who was nominated for her role as Mamacita, Joan Crawford's loyal maid in Feud: Bette and Joan, shocked audiences with her reaction to her loss at the 69th annual Emmy Awards.

Yup, she was caught on camera shouting 'Damn it!' as Dern's name was called.

Dern is the daughter of actors Diane Ladd and Bruce Dern. "Forgive me for being from real people #elitism", she tweeted.

She later made a series of outlandish claims about Dern, including that she "looted art from Nazi victims" and "runs a child porn ring" with the hashtag, #soreloser. However, the odds are this is just part of Hoffman's spoof of Joan Crawford's infamous 1963 Academy Awards spitefulness.

So, was she seriously upset?

As depicted in Hoffman's show Feud, Crawford responded to being snubbed for a nomination that year by calling every single other nominee and offering to accept the award on their behalf if they couldn't make it to the ceremony.
