Saints trade linebacker Stephone Anthony to Dolphins

The Dolphins suspended linebacker Lawrence Timmons on Tuesday, three days after he left the team without notice while they were in Los Angeles to face the Chargers. His streak of 101 consecutive starts was snapped.

The maximum punishment allowed as per the NFL's collective bargaining agreement is four games, but Gase seemed non-committal on whether or not Timmons will be allowed to reclaim his starting spot, or even return to the team following his suspension.

"I'm kind of dealing with the guys that played", Gase said.

The Dolphins played Sunday's game with Chase Allen, an undrafted rookie, as a starter.

When he was asked about Timmons situation after Sunday's game, Adam Gase, who is Dolphin's head coach, said that he had two rules, a player to be on time and play hard.

Gase declined to say whether Timmons might play Sunday at the? I'm not surprised by this move in the least, I figured the Saints would look to trade him during training camp and the preseason before he got injured.

"What do you think?" With the Dolphins given several days off that week, Timmons spent time with former Steelers teammates on their practice field and in the locker room on September 8 before their first game.

Timmons, entering his 11th National Football League season, was dealing with his personal matter Saturday and returned to the team early Sunday morning before the Dolphins chose to make him inactive against the Chargers in Carson, Calif.

Timmons, who was signed to a two-year, $10 million deal in March, was later found at Los Angeles International Airport, according to TMZ Sports, trying to board a plane to Pennsylvania, where his young daughter apparently lives.
