Sean Spicer Appears As Himself At The Emmys

Since opting to leave the White House over Anthony "The Mooch" Scaramucci's short lived communications director role, Spicer took his talents to the Emmy Awards for a self-deprecating cameo appearance where he mocked his own "largest audience to witness an inauguration, period" comment - a line he claims to now "absolutely regret". The former press secretary appeared on stage for a brief, self-deprecating bit that many feel was giving him a pass for his behavior during his time at the White House.

"Now, I know you think that's a picture of me kissing Sean Spicer", Corden said.

Much like that time Jimmy Fallon was subject to massive backlash for jokingly ruffling Donald Trump's hair on "The Tonight Show", people bashed the Emmys for even inviting Spicer and then piled on Corden for kissing the man.

Comparisons of photos taken at former President Barack Obama's 2009 inauguration and President Trump's, among other evidence, showed Spicer's claim to be false. "I mean, anyone ever have that feeling when you get a little drunk and you wake up the next morning and you think, 'oh god, who did I kiss last night?'" he joked.

In last night's Emmy presentation, host Stephen Colbert chose to call in one of many cameo's, setting the tone for a night that would be full of them. "I just happened to kiss the biggest one there".

"Now, understandably, some people have been disappointed by this photo", he said. In truth, I'm disappointed by it as well.

"I can promise you this, that kiss was a one-time thing".

On Sunday, former White House press secretary Sean Spicer surprised the nation when he appeared at the 2017 Emmys, complete with his signature podium, to poke fun at the crowd size.
