The Emmy's '9 To 5' Reunion Throws Serious Shade At Donald Trump

The Emmy's '9 To 5' Reunion Throws Serious Shade At Donald Trump

The 9 to 5 stars, who fought against sexual harassment, unfair treatment, and sexist stereotypes in the '80s film, were originally supposed to reunite at the 2017 SAG Awards, where Tomlin was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award by her costars. Our favorite surprise, though, was when Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, and Dolly Parton poured themselves a cup of ambition and hit the stage for a 9 to 5 reunion.

"Well, thank you, that's nice", Parton said, responding to the audience's standing ovation. "I have been looking forward to a 9 to 5 reunion, and tonight's the night", Parton began.

Before they could give out the award for Best Supporting Actor in a Limited Series, Dolly seemed to go off-script.

Not to be outdone, but to maybe stay a little above the fray in terms of politics, Parton also got a laugh by making a "support" joke before the nominees were announced.

"In 1980, we refused to be controlled by a sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot boss", Fonda opened.

Nearly 40 years after "9 to 5", Lily Tomlin, Jane Fonda and Dolly Parton can still take down a man.

"I'm here to just have a good time tonight", she said.

Tomlin and Fonda are, of course, nominated for their work on the aforementioned Netflix show Grace and Frankie, while Parton appeared to just be along for the ride.
