Central England Co-operative is continuing its efforts to break the silence around mental health by branding two of its lorries with the Time to Change logo.

To increase awareness of mental health issues around the world, the World Health Organisation (WHO) has designated October 10 as "World Mental Health Day".

"So we are delighted to be offering people the chance to get funding to put on their own activity or event".

The Foundation have published a guide ( and are calling on people to use it to make their workplaces more "mentally friendly". "By working together we can ensure that a raft of solutions are developed which offer support to everyone who is struggling with mental health problems in the workplace".

Mr James, whose specialist firm has the largest mental health law department in South Wales, is speaking out ahead of World Mental Health Day on Tuesday.

It is hoped this will help publicise the campaign to remove the stigma surrounding mental health as people see the lorries as they travel on roads across the UK.

"We are trying to also consider the freshmen that are going through this big and kind of scary transition of being an adult for the first time", Cho said.

One person with direct experience is James Routledge, an entrepreneur who cofounded social network Matchchat in 2012, then suffered anxiety and stress when the company was wound up. "The average cost for a mental health admission is R23,000 and the length of stay is 11 days".

The theme for the World Mental Health Day 2017 is "Mental Health In The Workplace" which addresses a key aspect of psychological issues, and reaches out to those suffering from mental health issues but keep it hidden.

This includes small business owners and the self-employed - statistics from FSB's medical and health advice service show that the number of small business owners and self-employed seeking advice on mental health conditions, such as depression, work-related stress and anxiety, has doubled in the last five years.

Indeed, almost nine out of ten people with mental health problems say that stigma and discrimination have a negative effect on their lives.

"In early 2016 we were one of the first United Kingdom construction companies to make a stand and commit to end mental health discrimination by signing the Time to Change pledge", says Skanska head of occupational health and wellbeing Tricia O'Neill explains.
