Accusation: Ben Affleck groped young actress on 'TRL'

"Girls. I'm so impressed with you courageous ones", Burton tweeted, posting a link to a video of an episode of TRL outtakes.

In his statement, Affleck rebuked Weinstein following newly published allegations by multiple women claiming he sexually assaulted them.

In particular, actor Ben Affleck Tuesday on Facebook expressed sadness and anger surrounding a man who, "used his position of power to intimidate, sexually harass and manipulate many women over decades". This is completely unacceptable, and I find myself asking what I can do to make sure this doesn't happen to others. We need to do better at protecting our sisters, friends, co-workers and daughters. We must support those who come forward, condemn this type of behavior when we see it and help ensure there are more women in positions of power'.

Burton followed up their exchange with a video clip from MTV TRL Uncensored with the caption, "Girls".

Burton spoke of the claims on Twitter in response to a fan who wrote: 'Ben Affleck should've just kept quiet. "I didn't forget. Seriously, thank you for that". "I had to laugh back then so I wouldn't cry".

A video clip confirms not only did the incident happen, MTV highlighted it and interviewed both Burton and presumably a producer about it.

"Girls. I'm so impressed with you fearless ones", Burton, who is expecting her second child with The Walking Dead star Jeffrey Dean Morgan, wrote in the tweet.

Affleck's statement comes after he refused to respond to repeated requests for comment from Dailymail.com.

Following Affleck's statement on the Weinstein accusations, actress Rose McGowan - whose $100,000 settlement involving the movie mogul was revealed by the New York Times - slammed the Argo star.

Affleck and his brother Casey had been called out on Twitter for their silence by actress and alleged Weinstein victim Rose McGowan.
