Andy Cohen Replaces Kathy Griffin as CNN New Year's Eve Co-Host

Cohen added, "I've been friends with Anderson for twenty-five years".

Outrageous gives way to outrageous: Kathy Griffin's replacement as Anderson Cooper's sidekick on New Year's Eve will be Andy Cohen, CNN announced Wednesday.

Cohen and Cooper regularly tour together, hosting a night of conversation in various cities throughout the country. "We are pleased to see she has apologized and asked that the photos be taken down".

Andy Cohen was announced as the new co-host of CNN's New Year's Eve coverage - a role that was previously held by Griffin before she posed with a faux decapitated head of President Trump in a photo. Cooper said in a statement. Cooper's tenure on the program dates back farther, to 2002.

The special will now be called "New Year's Eve Live with Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen", which starts on December 31, of course. However, in August, she told NY magazine that their friendship had ended in the wake of the scandal. He most recently hosted New Year's Eve Game Night With Andy Cohen for NBC this past year, which averaged a 1.0 rating in the adults 18-49 demo.

"We're still friends", Cooper told Cohen of Griffin in July.

Per the comedian, she and Cooper ended their personal friendship after the newsman didn't come to her defense following the fallout.
