Bundle up, Jersey: Temperatures to flirt with freezing overnight

Areas in blue are under a frost advisory from 2-9 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2017. However, a brisk northwesterly wind ushered in cooler air throughout the day. If you're in the frost advisory and have plants you'd like to hang on to for a little while longer, take the time to cover them tonight and tomorrow night.

Tuesday's temperatures are forecast to be at the low end or just below the the normal range for the Lehigh Valley, settling in the low 60s.

A chilly morning will turn into a seasonably cool afternoon. The low Wednesday night is 49 degrees.

This will be a gorgeous stretch of weather!

Temperatures dropping into the low- to mid-30s early Tuesday morning could produce frost that could damage sensitive plants. That means all 3 days will be sunny or mostly sunny.

Temperatures are expected to moderate as the week continues. Thursday and Friday will be even milder with highs in the low to middle 70s. If we had seen more significant rainfall over the past month I would be more excited for the nice weather and while I am still looking forward to it, we do need rainfall quite badly in many areas.

No major changes are expected through the weekend and that is great news for us!

"But we have a cold front that's going to move through today and it'll move offshore late morning", said NWS meteorologist Kim Buttrick.
