Chance the Rapper livestreams traffic stop on Instagram

Chance The Rapper took the precautionary measure of livestreaming a recent traffic stop in Chicago for his fans in case things didn't exactly go his way.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports that almost 7 million of the Grammy Award-winner's Instagram followers watched.

Chance, whose real name is Chancelor Bennett, is seen in a video posted to multiple YouTube pages sitting in the front passenger seat of a vehicle with his child's mother, Kirsten Corley, behind the wheel. He wanted to stream the incident "in case it gets out of hand", - Chance also noted he had his baby in the auto. Should be good though. "Should be straight. I have great faith in humanity and the men and women that put on the badge, but can't be too careful". His longtime girlfriend, Kirsten Corley, was driving at the time, and his young daughter was also in the vehicle.

The Chicago Sun-Times reported that Illinois Police confirmed that Corley was pulled over around 1 p.m for a moving violation and was given a warning.

Chance the Rapper live streamed an incident where he was pulled over by Chicago Police.

Chance himself has been vocal about several sociopolitical issues, especially police brutality after the shooting death and subsequent high-level cover-up of Laquan McDonald by the hands of a Chicago police officer.

"Hell, yeah, I'm not gonna be playing around with these [inaudible]", Chance said. "I ain't got no [gun] in the auto, no drugs in the vehicle".

In the end, the officer let the pair go with just a warning. The three of them were returning from church when an officer made a decision to pull them over during a traffic stop.

Later in the video, Chance says he has "big faith" in the "men and women that put on the uniform".
