Channing Tatum's Gambit gets Valentine's Day release date

However, it seems like Gambit's ball has started rolling again, because according to a report by Deadline, Fox has just announced that the studio's scheduled Tatum's solo superhero film to hit cinemas on February 14, 2019.

After a few false starts, Gambit looks like it's happening after all, with Gore Verbinski directing Channing Tatum in the title role.

Gambit will be part of the X-Men Cinematic Universe and is expected to narrate the story of Remy LeBeau who lives in New Orleans, Louisiana as a key member of the venerable Thieves' Guild. Where the X-Men movies and the superhero movies with Logan and Deadpool really broke down a lot of doors for us. The character belongs to a subspecies of humans called mutants, and has the ability to mentally create, control, and manipulate pure kinetic energy - as well as being skilled in card throwing and hand-to-hand combat.

Gambit was first seen as a character in 2009's "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" and was played by Taylor Kitsch. Since Deadpool too was released around the same time in February, Fox seems to have chose to release Gambit too at around the same time.

In addition to Gambit, Fox has three other X-Men movies lined up for 2018, including New Mutants, Deadpool 2 and X-Men: Dark Phoenix.
