Emotional video captures moment 11-year-old girl learns she's been adopted

VIDEO: Tannah Butterfield, 11, received the good news from her school's office manager.

Jackie Alexander, who works as a school office manager in Utah, delivered the happy news to 11-year-old Tannah Butterfield on October 2.

Alexander also writes that she knows the family and has watched them fight to adopt three foster children that attend the school where she works. She'd been wishing for two years that the judge would make her foster parents her forever parents, and that wish finally came true.

"I've been overwhelmed that my simple thoughts of a sweet moment have gone so viral", Alexander said. In 12 years at this activity, this is by a wide margin my best minute ever!

"I just grabbed her and I just said 'Honey, oh baby have you heard the news?' And she said 'What?' And I said 'You get your family". To tell a little girl that she gets her family forever takes the cake.

Alexander told KUTV that the day the video was taken, she was feeling dejected after seeing reports about the deadly mass shooting that took place in Las Vegas, so she was thrilled to share good news with Tannah.

"I just needed to let people know there's a lot gong on in the world and there's a lot of sadness that we see, but you know what?"

What's more, Alexander says she simply continued embracing her young companion.
