EPL On Citi: Chelsea fall to Crystal Palace, Man City thrash Stoke

Manchester City thrashed Stoke 7-2 for the biggest win of the English Premier League season as the goals dried up for title rival Manchester United in another tiresome stalemate with Liverpool on Saturday. Eriksen's 47th-minute victor gave them some home comfort at last and the north Londoners will hope it's more than a brief respite.

If City were brutally clinical, Arsenal were anything but to squander a lead and ultimately leave Watford with nothing. I'll have to watch what I say.

Manchester City are frightening.

Manchester City charged to the top of the table after a 7-2 demolition of Stoke City. The visitors clawed their way back into the game from 3-0 down to trail by a single goal, but City merely shrugged and stepped up a gear, scoring another four in a spell of sumptuous football - and that was without their main striker Sergio Aguero.

On a day when United manager Jose Mourinho's caution returned in securing a 0-0 at Anfield, his counterpart at City - Pep Guardiola - oversaw an attacking masterclass by his team, which has scored 29 goals in eight games.

Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 AFC Bournemouth Tottenham collected their first Premier League victory at Wembley Stadium after edging past Bournemouth. At the moment he's enjoying proving his critics wrong.

Roy Hodgson could have been forgiven for wondering what he had done after his first three league games as Crystal Palace manager yielded no points, not a single goal for and 10 against, and there seemed little prospect of an imminent improvement as Chelsea arrived at Selhurst Park on Saturday. After that, they'll welcome Watford to the Bridge for their next Premier League encounter. "It is the best performance since I am here", Guardiola said. Could his team have started their great escape?
