McDonald's Is Testing Out A Vegan Burger

McDonald's is launching a trial product in Finland, and it's a decidedly new venture for the burger-hawking mainstay of American culture. Food & Wine reported the McDonald's Finland also serves vegan fries, but that's just because their fry recipe is vegan by default (McDonald's fries in the USA are made with a hydrolyzed milk, and therefore not technically vegan), Fox News reported.

This test release will be available at one location in Tampere, Finland.

But the fast-food chain may be changing that, thanks to a new vegan burger option.

With lettuce, tomato, onions, ketchup and mustard, the new item has already set social media alight.

"After boycotting McDonald's for 20+ years I had to try the new #mcvegan", one person wrote on Instagram, calling the burger "really good".

Customers who have been lucky enough to get their hands on the McVegan burger have been eagerly sharing images of their meals online.

There have sadly been no confirmed plans for a global rollout as of yet. Now, it's adding a vegan burger to its menu.

If McDonald's can bring us McRibs and Mighty Wings, anything is possible for a burger like this to come around.
