Negotiations between Mesut Ozil, Arsenal over new deal "going well"

Negotiations between Mesut Ozil, Arsenal over new deal

Ozil has not undergone contract negotiations with the Gunners since March, but could be set for a humiliating u-turn by the end of the season.

And it appears that both could be in the squad for the late kick-off at Vicarage Road this weekend as Arsenal look to stretch their current unbeaten run to eight games in all competitions and make it five successive wins.

The Germany global is in final year of his contract, and his advisors may have to go back and accept Arsenal's £250,000-a-week offer.

Jose Mourinho's Manchester United were seen as a possible destination as well as the major clubs in German and Spain.

United would not be able to thrash out an agreement for the summer but are reportedly considering a winter move for the World Cup victor. Who knows. There's a rumour that he goes to Manchester United. He shouldn't do it.

However, the most worrying thing of all is probably the speculation surrounding the futures of their two star players, Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil. But I'm not his agent so I don't know where he ends up.

'Best option is if he would, from my point, come to the Bundesliga. It's a really good option because we get another national player back in our league.

A number of clubs are said to be monitoring Ozil's situation, including Manchester United and Serie A giants Inter, but Ozil's representative Dr Erkut Sogut insists talks over a new Arsenal deal are progressing well.
