Nokia 9 renders reveal thin bezels, lack of headphone jack

It's a flagship smartphone and is called Nokia 9. Meet the Nokia 9, which is apparently still happening, despite what we initially expected to be the 9 seeing daylight a while back as the bothie-producing 8.

Details on pricing and availability weren't given, but a leak from earlier this week suggested that the Nokia 9 might be announced sometime in early 2018 alongside the budget-friendly Nokia 2 and the mid-range Nokia 7, according to Phone Arena.

In other Nokia-related news, HMD Global has confirmed that the Nokia 8 will not be available in the United States after all. These aren't press renders though, rather, as is always the case with OnLeaks, they are based on factory CAD files of the phone, hence, chances are we might see a different product at the time of launch. At least the Galaxy S8 and G6, as the Nokia 9 is tipped to sport a 5.5-inch Quad HD AMOLED screen with slim surrounding borders. The curved design looks fantastic, though it is hard to see the actual outline of the display. The smartphone is also said to house a fingerprint scanner and will also feature an Iris Scanner as well.

Nestled in the extremely shiny rear panel of the Nokia 9 is a vertically-arranged dual-lens camera, which appears to protrude quite a bit. There is a USB Type-C port at the bottom of the smartphone.

From these renders, we can make out that HMD has got the courage to ditch the 3.5mm audio jack.

Elsewhere, specs are said to include the Snapdragon 835 processor, 4GB of RAM and 64/128GB onboard storage options. There's no headphone jack, and disturbingly common trend lately. As you can see from the image, the handset looks quite sleek and should come to retail with relatively thin bezels around the display.
