The festive transformation features massive decorative spiders and cobwebs.

Military families and community organizations are also set to take part in the event.

The South Lawn will be open to "ghosts and goblins of all ages" from 4 p.m.to 7 p.m. the night before Halloween, according to a statement from the First Lady Melania Trump.

The White House transformed from a majestic structure to the scariest house in Washington on Monday complete with giant spider webs and Jack O'lanterns for the annual Halloween event. There will also be bats, orange pumpkins with profiles of past presidents, fog in the air, and the trees and south facade will be lit with different colors throughout the night.

Some on Twitter believe there was no need for the POTUS and his wife to dig out decorations, tweeting the White House was already a "house of horrors".

'The People's House @WhiteHouse is ready to celebrate #Halloween2017, ' she wrote alongside the photo.

On Friday. the president invited the children of the White House press corps and gave them candy and complimented their costumes.

The Telegraph reports that the trick-or-treaters received individual gift bags containing presidential M&Ms, a home-baked cookie and other sweets. Trump joked. "I can not believe the media produced such attractive children".
