Another Body Found in Tampa Neighborhood Where 3 Were Killed

Three people were fatally shot in the neighborhood during a 10-day span last month, leading to increased police patrols.

The body was found blocks away from the scenes of three recent unsolved murders in the neighborhood.

There is a massive police presence in the area searching for the suspect. The victim has been identified as 60-year-old Ronald Felton.

They say Felton was crossing the street to meet someone when a gunman came up behind him and shot him.

- A shooting investigation is underway in Seminole Heights, police said, where one person was found dead.

"We think by their proximity and the manner it was done, they are linked", said Dugan during a news conference on Tuesday morning. "The suspect is described as a black male, 6' to 6'2" in height, thin build, light complexion, dressed in all black, armed with a large black pistol and was wearing a black baseball cap.

They believe the killer may still be in the area.

Nearby residents are asked to remain in their homes, and bus service has been suspended in the area. When officers arrived, they found the body of a man in the street.

Officers have saturated the area, and are going door-to-door looking for witnesses as well. At Hillsborough High School, a group of parents gathered together to transport students for the morning.

Chief Dugan is asking residents who own guns to go in their homes and verify that their guns are still there, insinuating that the suspect may have stolen any weapons used in the killings. "We hope to catch him before he gets outside the area".

On Oct. 9, victim Benjamin Mitchell, 22, was waiting for a bus on North 15th Street and Frierson Avenue in Tampa. Tampa police have received hundreds of tips, but have fallen short on solid leads. If not, contact Tampa police immediately at 813-231-6130.
