Bucs snap 5-game losing streak, top Jets 15-10

The last victory for the Buccaneers came October 2nd as they defeated the New York Giants 25-23. Ryan Fitzpatrick returned to NY for the first time since week 17 last season, as he was the quarterback for the Jets. Jackson finished the day with six catches for 82 yards.

Nobody would have predicted that the New York Jets would have a better record than the Tampa Bay Buccaneers entering week 10 of the 2017 National Football League season. Chandler Catanzaro converted a 47-yard field goal to improve to 10-for-14 on kicks between 40-49 yards this season.

Fitzpatrick threw a touchdown pass to running back Charles Sims in the fourth quarter and the Bucs defense kept the Jets out of the end zone for the first 59:32 of a 15-10 Tampa win. It was the key to fending off the rally from McCown, who racked up over 100 passing yards and a touchdown after having just over 100 passing yards through three and a half quarters.

But Tampa Bay's Chris Godwin recovered the ensuing onside kick, ending any chance of NY completing a comeback.

Fitzpatrick was 17-of-34 for 187 yards and an interception to go along with that touchdown for a performance that was enough to give the Bucs their second-ever win over the Jets.

Brent Grimes celebrates an interception. They were able to get off the field on third down, allowing the Jets to convert just 3 of 15 tries.

Kendell Beckwith comes up with a sack.

The Jets will take their bye next week.

The Bucs have had a bad season but they have been very good against the spread in November over the years and they are hoping that trend will continue here as they have fallen well short of expectations this season and are a awful 2-6 on the year.

Buccaneers: At Miami next Sunday, beginning stretch of three consecutive road games.
