Chennai engineer dies after alleged stalker sets her, family on fire

In a shocking incident, a woman was allegedly burnt alive by a classmate who had been stalking her for a month.

The dean of the hospital told media persons that Renuka has suffered 49 percent and Nivedha 23 percent burn injuries and are being treated in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in a critical condition. The victim's mother and sister have also been injured in the incident, as they tried to save the victim and have been hospitalized with severe burns.

On hearing their screams, the neighbours rushed to the victim's house. As per the witnesses present at the spot, the hospital ambulance took nearly 40 minutes to reach the residence after receiving a call from a neighbour.

The victim's uncle said, "Akash was stalking my niece for a month". The accused, Akash, came to the girl's house and demanded to see Induja, the victim.

"Initially, they didn't open the door, but Akash insisted that he would only to talk to Induja".
