Christopher Plummer on taking over Kevin Spacey's role

Christopher Plummer is saddened by what's happened to Kevin Spacey... but not as sad about replacing the disgraced actor in Ridley Scott's film All the Money in the World. Now, he's attempting what could be his greatest trick yet.

Scott made the decision to cut out Spacey, who was to play J. Paul Getty in the autobiographical crime drama All The Money In The World, in the wake of the allegations of sexual misconduct levelled at the actor. "It's quite a push", Plummer told Entertainment Tonight of the reshoot schedule, adding that they plan to start shooting next Monday.

"I was in contention for [the part of J. Paul Getty] way before, so I was familiar with it". "Kevin is such a talented actor, terrifically gifted".

We will remind, scandal with spacey started with the fact that the 46-year-old actor Anthony RAPP, best known for the TV series Star Trek, said that at age 14 he tried to seduce a drunken spacey, who at that time was 26 years old. “But Ive got to forget that and go and do it, because its a very well written script and Ridley has been very good.”. "But if I did behave then as he describes, I owe him the sincerest apology for what would have been deeply inappropriate drunken behavior". I admire Ridley Scott and I'm thrilled to be making a movie for him. "That's all I can say, because that's it". The script was wonderful.

In a shocking move, Scott chose to pull the thriller amidst the allegations of sexual assault and harassment involving Spacey and re-shoot the scenes with Plummer with the co-operation of stars Mark Wahlberg and Michelle Williams.

Plummer spoke briefly at the premiere, and did not mention any of Spacey's alleged victims, as at least Allen had done regarding Weinstein. I can't remember how many scenes I have at the moment.

Also happy with his role in "The Man Who Invented Christmas", Plummer commented, "I love that character".

Kevin Spacey has been re-cast in a movie that's due to come out in just a few weeks.

'Netflix will not be involved with any further production of House of Cards that includes Kevin Spacey, ' a Netflix spokesperson said in a statement.
