Floor collapses during Texas students' rowdy party

The party was held on the third floor of the complex, crashing into the floor below.

The apartment is at the Ridge at North Texas, a complex that houses students from three schools: University of North Texas, Texas Women's University and North Central Texas College.

Insane video shows a third floor apartment in Denton, Texas caving in Saturday night.

Amazingly, only a handful of people were treated for minor injuries.

Video of the incident showed people at the party jumping up and down before they fall to the floor below.

"It was just way too many people in my apartment, I have no idea who these people were", said Abiola Busari, who threw the party in his apartment.

Carley Carroll is a UNT sophomore who lives on the second floor directly below the unit that collapsed.

It happened just before 2:00 a.m.at The Ridge at North Texas apartments located near Highway 288.

"I have nowhere to go".

"I notify everybody in advance", Busari said.

Carroll and her roommates are not the only ones affected.

Investigators are working to figure out what caused the structural failure. Out of about 40 people he said he helped, no one said thanks. Instead, they were at the Denton Police Department making a noise complaint about the party. "Everything is gone", said Carroll. Police say those type of calls are low priority in nature and people have usually left the party by the time officers arrive.

That's right. Denton firefighters initially thought they had a "mass casualty situation" on their hands.
