Morocco vs. Ivory Coast: Who will go to Russian Federation?

The Atlas Lions are returning to the World Cup for the first time in 20 years after they last made it in 1998.

"Arab-flavored World Cup "Egypt-Saudi Arabia-Morocco-Tunisia" congratulations to us all", Salah tweeted.

Morocco qualified for the first time since the 1998 World Cup.

Morocco and Tunisia will join Nigeria, Egypt and Senegal as the African sides in Russian Federation next summer.

The Morocco national football team is qualified for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russian Federation.

Needing just a point at home to already-eliminated Libya to assure their progression, they labored to a goalless draw. Tunisia qualified for the World Cup after winning the group with 14 points.

Goals from Nabil Dirar and Mehdi Benatia in the first half secured qualification for the Moroccans who won the group with 12 points.

Morocco needed only a draw in their last group game to finish top of the Group C standings in the African preliminaries, ahead of the Ivorians, who had to win to clinch a fourth successive World Cup finals appearance.

Brian Mwila put the Copper Bullets back in front just after the hour, which had looked enough for victory before Yaya headed in during stoppage time to snatch a point.

Tunisia, meanwhile, progressed as winners of Group A despite not being able to end their campaign with victory over Libya, who finished bottom.

Five minutes later, perhaps still shaken by his error for the first goal, he hesitated after deciding to come for a corner, and was left in no man's land when Benatia prodded home into the roof of the net. Before today's matches, Tunisia had 13 points while DR Congo had 10 points.
