Obiano's security aides 'withdrawn' - four days to Anambra poll

"All the identified flashpoints, trouble spots and other perceived violence/vulnerable areas in the state have been profiled and appropriate pragmatic strategies and tactics have been implemented to checkmate and tackle them ahead of the election.Consequent on the renewed threat by the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and other affiliate groups to disrupt the election, the Force has deployed Special Police Forces, Police Mobile Force, Specially Trained Counter-Terrorism Unit and other intelligence and tactical Squads to deal decisively with IPOB,"the statement added". If you vote on November 18, you will die.

The report, however, explained that with the determination of the state to conduct the election, it is likely to be conducted as planned as arrangements for massive deployment of security forces have already been concluded.

"We appeal to our fellow youths especially in Anambra State to be law abiding and to come out en masse to participate actively in the forth coming governorship election".

The IPOB, through its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, had earlier said unless the Nigerian State calls for a referendum to determine the status of the country, there would be no election in Anambra State.

To further ensure peaceful conduct of the election, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr Ibrahim K. Idris, and Chairman, Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) will meet stakeholders and political parties, their flag bearers before the date of the election.

The state's governorship election is scheduled to hold on November 18.

It added that no armed security personnel would be allowed within the polling units, adding that armed police detachments on patrol vehicles would patrol the streets and other locations throughout the state to prevent crime.

The IPOB leadership, according to the groups, should desist from further threats of violence against the Anambra State voting population and restrict its appeal for an election boycott to voluntary appeal. "This is scary", one of them said.

"That they have perfected plans to rig the upcoming Anambra State Governorship election in favour of the most loyal Hausa Fulani slave among the contenders is not a secret". So any vehicle seen on the road will be considered a threat to their plans to rig the election and the occupants of such vehicles will be shot dead.

Force Public Relations Officer, Jimoh Moshood, disclosed this in a statement yesterday.

Meanwhile, APGA has urged (INEC), security agencies and other federal government establishments, who will be on election duty during the governorship election to be above board, non-partisan and ensure that the electoral guidelines, rules and regulations are strictly adhered to.

The coalition also condemned the federal government's massive deployment of armed security operatives to the state to provide security formations before and during the Saturday election.

In a statement signed by the President Electorl commission in the state, Dr. Nkwachkwu Orji, he denied the rumour of missing sensitive election material.
