Pradyuman murder: Haryana Min finds arrest of student unbelievable

The father of teenager alleged that the CBI was torturing his son which was strongly refuted by the agency. "We have chose to file a case against Gurgaon Police SIT officers who framed and used torture and even drugged him to confess before the media that he had committed the crime", said Ashok's father Amirchand.

Meanwhile, the Juvenile Justice Board sought clarification from the CBI for violating timings of interrogation of the accused class 11 boy.

The student's father also said that only one Parent-Teachers Meeting (PTM) had been held till date and that all teachers had praised his son's performance and behaviour.

"Do you think such a young boy would behave normally for so many days had he committed such a serious crime?" the boy's father asked.

The juvenile court, however, granted only three-day custody with a rider that the accused can only be questioned from 10 a.m.to 5 a.m. only. At present, he may be sent to an observation home.

The agency at this point of time does not want to divulge any details.

However, the CBI immediately denied the allegations made by the father that the arrested minor was being tortured in custody.

The sources said CBI officials also used a dummy in the form of a soft toy to ask him how he allegedly killed Pradhuman. Apart from the confessional statement, CBI claims that they have forensic evidence, CCTV footage and witnesses statement on the basis of which they have charged the juvenile of murder.

The sources said the juvenile court has appointed an independent welfare officer to monitor the investigation and questioning of the apprehended student.

BJP leaders in Haryana are a divided lot after the CBI declared that the murderer of a Class 2 student here was a senior schoolmate and not a bus conductor as alleged by Haryana Police.

Reportedly, the accused is not good in studies and was afraid of taking the exams. CBI on Friday also told that there is a possibility of involvement of other person in the case.

Pradyuman Thakur, a student of the Ryan International School, Gurugram, was found dead inside the toilet of school premises, with his throat slit on September 8.
