"All franchises unanimously made a decision to increase the player salary cap by United States dollars 25,000 allowing teams to pick a squad of 21 players for this season", a PCB release said.

Peshawar Zalmi have picked all-rounder Hammad Azam. It includes both the retained and new players picked in the draft.

Each franchise has a spending cap as players are picked through the draft system from five different categories - platinum, diamond, gold, silver, and emerging.

Lahore Qalandars retained some key players like Brendon McCullum, Sunil Narine, Umar Akmal, which was wise. However, signing Rashid Khan as a supplementary player (means the player will not be available for the full season but will play a part) is a good choice. The players in Gold Category will be drafted in the third round while players in the silver group will be drafted in the fourth and fifth rounds. Trades could be allowed and as a result, the order could be changed.
