Rick Ross, Julius Erving & Others Rally for Meek Mill in Philadelphia

He was arrested twice earlier this year for minor infractions and both cases were dismissed-he'd been probation for the past 10 years for a gun and drug charge. He not only has a bright future but also a unique opportunity to inspire young men at a time when others are tearing them down. Most of his supporters believe that the lengthy sentence was not only harsh but unjust-especially given the specifics of Meek's case. I would hate to him incarcerated for these violations.

From the videos making rounds on social media, the fans were also joined by top celebrities like the rapper's boss, Rick Ross, and basketball legend Julius "Dr. J". "Sadly there are Black folks going through the same radicalized injustice (s) within the justice system that Meek Mill has experienced for over a decade EVERY SINGLE DAY", he wrote.

Meek Mill has received a ton of support from rappers such as JAY-Z and T.I. since his latest prison sentence, and now, a letter from the co-owner of the NBA's Philadelphia 76ers supporting the Philly rapper has surfaced.

The Rally for Meek is scheduled for Monday at 5 p.m.at the Criminal Justice Center in Philadelphia.

The rally will take place today at the Phila. "We stand for justice", read a poster for the rally tweeted by the Roots' Tariq Trotter, also known as Black Thought.

Judge Genece Brinkley is reportedly being investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation for possible relationships she might have in Philly - including to a local music mogul she allegedly asked Meek to sign with - as well as a possible "extortionate demand". according to the New York Post. Mill's lawyer Joe Tacopina told the site that he's filing the motions because he claims the judge has a personal vendetta against Mill.
