Rohit Shetty's comic caper zooms past Rs 200 crore mark

Taran Adarsh, the trade analyst tweeted that, #GolmaalAgain steps into ₹ 200 cr Club today [Sun; Day 24]... In an interview with Mumbai Mirror, Rohit Shetty talks about his hit-pairing with Ajay Devgn - Ajay and I never take our success for granted. Its total screen count was 4,232, which was the biggest release ever for Golmaal franchise. [Week 4] Friday 62 lakhs, Sat 1.16 cr, Sun 1.69 cr. His movie PK was the only film to have earned Rs 33 crore but Golmaal Again raced ahead and managed to rake in Rs 35 crore. The fourth film in the Golmaal franchise may have received mixed reviews from critics but looks like the audience gave it much more love and utilised their Diwali weekend to get their amusing bone tickled with this horror comedy. Hence, the total collection stands at Rs. 201.43 crores at the domestic box-office front.

However, Rohit Shetty along with Ajay Devgn is back again with lots of entertainment, fun, drama and action.

The Golmaal series of films debuted in 2006 with Golmaal and has had entries like Golmaal Returns (2008) and Golmaal 3 to the franchise.

The movie features Ajay Devgn, Parineeti Chopra, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Kunal Kemmu and Tabu in the lead roles. The film is slowly inching closer to the Rs 200 crore mark and will easily cross it in a few days. It has also emerged as the highest grossing Bollywood film of 2017. Shahrukh Khan starrer, Chennai Express held the record with a lifetime collection of Rs 227 crore.
