Rose McGowan turns herself in over drug possession warrant

The actress, 44, was released on bail after surrendering to Loudoun County Sheriff's Office in Virginia on Tuesday. According to the spokesperson, the warrant existed for possession of cocaine.

Last month, she claimed the arrest warrant obtained by Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Police Department had been part of an attempt to silence her.

Rose McGowan turned herself into authorities Tuesday on an arrest warrant for drug possession, Page Six has confirmed.

According to Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Police, they obtained the warrant for McGowan on February 1 after an investigation of personal belongings left behind on a United flight arriving at Dulles International Airport on January 20 tested positive for narcotics. On Twitter, McGowan has amassed supporters and urged them to call out harassment using the #RoseArmy hashtag.

McGowan later accused Weinstein of rape.

She tweeted: "Are they trying to silence me?" However, that incident was not reported in the New York Times exposé. There is a warrant out for my arrest in Virginia. McGowan said that back in 1997 she reached a $100,000 settlement with the Hollywood executive for "an episode in a hotel room during the Sundance Film Festival". More than 80 women have come forward with allegations of sexual harassment and assault.
