RSS Worker Dies After Vehicle Rams His Motorcycle In Kerala's Thrissur

A Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) activist, identified as P Anand was hacked to death in Kerala's Thrissur, allegedly by CPM workers. He was listed as second accused in a case related to the killing of CPM activist Fazil, about four years ago.

Sunday's killing adds to the spate of incidents of violence between the RSS and CPI (M) workers in Kerala, where each attack is followed by a revenge killing.

The incident occurred at around 1.30 p.m. when Anand, who was on a two-wheeler, was knocked down by a vehicle. He was rushed to a private hospital where he died.

The BJP called for a strike in Guruvayoor and Manaloor Assembly constituencies on Monday to protest the killing.

The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), the student wing of the RSS had organised a rally at the state capital on Saturday to protest against "growing political intolerance" in Kerala.

The CPIM has in turn, accused BJP and RSS of resorting to violence and denied the involvement of its government and leadership in political killings. "Communist terror surging in the state with Jungle Raj in Kerala to aid", said BJP state president Kummanam Rajasekharan.

Since 2016, Kerala has noticed the spate of political murders and blamed each of other for the killings.

The BJP has alleged that CPM was behind the attack.
