The main Christmas tree installed in NY

Once the holidays wrap up and it's taken down in NY, the tree will be milled into lumber for habitat for humanity.

The 75-foot, 13-ton Spruce tree was chopped down in State College, Pennsylvania in the morning. Crown spruce star with a diameter of 2.9 meters and weighs 250 kg, is composed of 25 thousand artificial crystals manufactured by the Austrian company Swarovski.

New York's famous Christmas tree has arrived and been put in place at the Rockefeller Center.

The 85th tree to adorn the plaza is from Pennsylvania this year. The tree will stay in NY until January 7th. This will be the 11th straight year the Rockefeller Center tree has gone to the charity.

Once in NY, the tree will be covered in more than 50-thousand multi-colored LED lights and crowned with a Swarovski star. The Rockefeller Center Christmas tree lighting ceremony will be held on November 29, the story said.

After it's taken down, the tree will be donated to Habitat for Humanity.
