Trump mixes up California shooting with Texas shooting in tweet

President Trump was criticised in the wake of the Texas shooting earlier this month for saying the massacre was a "mental health problem", not "a gun situation" adding it was a "little bit soon" to get into a discussion about gun reform. "The FBI and Law Enforcement has arrived", Trump tweeted shortly before he announced his return to the US following a 12-day tour of Asia.

John Holcombe has arranged a public funeral for his family at an event center in Floresville, Texas, about 12 miles from the First Baptist Church of Sutherland Springs, where the shooting occurred.

Some Twitter users suggested that Trump may have just been confused by all the mass shootings in America lately. "Awful insult to the victims of both", the European media director of Human Rights Watch said.

The wording of the latest tweet closely resembles that of Mr Trump's post after the Texas shooting.

Twitter users questioned the timing of the tweet and wondered if Trump accidentally sent out a saved draft.

Officials believe the shooting in California began as a "domestic violence incident", although the exact motivation for the killings is unknown.

Suspected gunman Kevin Neal was shot dead by police after he opened fire on his neighbors and an elementary school at Rancho Tehama Reserve during a 45-minute rampage.

Donald Trump's least presidential moments so far.
