Variants Explained In Detail — Ford EcoSport

The new sub-compact SUV is available in a total of 10 variants, including a couple of petrol automatics. The bookings for the SUV commenced on November 2, 2017 at the company authorized dealerships, while 123 units were also up for grab at the Amazon India website for 24 hours on November 5, 2017.

The SUV also available with the 1.5-litre diesel which remains untouched along with its five-speed manual gearbox.

Safety features like ABS with EBD and dual front airbags are standard across all variants.

Ford India has strengthened its presence in the country with a focus on after-sales service.

Redesigned with close to 1600 new parts, the Ford EcoSport facelift features a reshaped front, and a large upper trapezoidal grille and lower grille. The media bin is one of 27 compartments throughout the EcoSport's cabin, offering convenient places for coffee cups, bottled drinks, sunglasses and umbrellas. The new grille is garnished in chrome and Ford's blue oval badge is placed in the centre between the two horizontal slats. A continuous line running from the beltline along the edge of the hood accentuates sleek new headlamps with LED daytime running lights.

Inside, the changes are quite extensive though the EcoSport does retain its all-black interior theme. Another big change in the design is that it has new 17-inch alloy wheels and claiming to be lighter and stronger than the previous. The new infotainment system uses Ford's Sync 3 system and allows for voice commands. The Ambiente trim also gets a basic audio system as well with Bluetooth, AUX-IN and USB connectivity. As for safety features, along with the standard features, the vehicle also comes with rear wiper and defogger, front foglamps, and rear parking sensors.

The New Ford EcoSport gets two transmission options.

Powering the new EcoSport will be an all-new three-cylinder 1.5-liter Ti-VCT petrol engine that's smaller, lighter and efficient. The new engine codenamed "Dragon" is mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The prices starts at Rs 7.31 lakh for the base Ambiente trim, going up to Rs 10.99 lakh for the top-spec Titanium+ variant (all prices ex-showroom, India).

For diesel lovers, the new EcoSport will also be offered with Ford's trusted and reliable 1.5L TDCi diesel engine that delivers best-in-class 100 PS power and fuel efficiency of 23 Km/L. The vehicle also comes with dual front air bags and ABS as standard across all variants.
