Wenger makes ultimatum if Man City want Sanchez in January

Arsène Wenger has remained in charge of the Gunners probably longer than he should have, and with the club once again performing below expectations, Gazzetta dello Sport believe Arsenal want him to take over from the French manager.

Gooners, would you like to see an exchange deal happen?

The 2022 World Cup in Qatar looms as an option for Wenger, an option he refuses to rule out.

Whatever is achieved between now and 2019, though, it is expected that Wenger will leave the club and pursue pastures new, as he will be nearly 70 by then.

For now, Wenger says he enjoys the constant interaction and work that comes with managing at a club rather than global level, so he is likely to see out his contract at Arsenal.

As far as Premier League history is concerned, Wenger's side are the only one to have gone undefeated throughout an entire season, in 2003/04.

Arsenal, who trail City by 12 points in sixth, host Tottenham Hotspur in the north London derby on Saturday.

"Four or five weeks is a different experience, it's more concentrated whereas the real test is to manage on a daily basis but I will not always have the physical strength to do that".

"Maybe, yes I will do it at some stage, but until now I like to be involved every day in the life of a club", said Wenger, who was appointed Arsenal manager in 1996.

This season, not much has changed. "But I will stay in football of course".

Sanchez whose current contract expires at the end of the season can leave for free next summer, though City are keen to land the Chilean for a cut-price in the New Year.
