Woman accused of burning hosts' ferret to death in oven

A pregnant woman is accused of burning her roommate's ferret to death in a hot oven after an argument about stolen clothes, New Hampshire police said Wednesday.

WHDH reported police being called to the roommates' Manchester apartment circa 3am, Wednesday morning after receiving reports of smoke in the building. While Klimavich added, "Our youngest ferret, Angel, was in the oven, dead".

Clifford who is going on eight months pregnant told police that she cooked the pet as revenge for her roommate stealing clothes, adding that she didn't think Murray should have the animal on account of her pregnancy.

Police arrested the 26-year-old on one count of animal cruelty.

"To lose a ferret is like losing a kid", Murray said.

"She nips. She's a baby", Murray told NH1. "It was just devastating", Murray told WHDH.

With tears running down her face, a grief-stricken Murray told reporters that knowing her cherished 2-year-old female ferret, Angel, suffered such a awful death was too much for her and her boyfriend to bear. "I just can't believe she did that", Murray said.

"These allegations demonstrate a profound level of sadism that is of deep concern to this court", the judge told Clifford in court, according to NECN. It wasn't immediately known if she had a lawyer and a phone number couldn't be found for her.

Murray is left mourning the loss of her beloved pet. I just don't understand.
