Addams Family Reboot Sets Release Date; Oscar Issac In Talks to Star

Reports are coming in that Oscar Isaac, the internet's boyfriend - now onscreen as Poe Dameron in Star Wars: The Last Jedi - is in talks to voice Gomez Addams in MGM's upcoming animated Addams Family movie, directed by Sausage Party's Conrad Vernon.

Isaac can now be seen reprising his role as dashing hero Poe Dameron in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, which is on pace for a $200 million opening weekend.

From a script by Pamela Pettler and Matt Lieberman, and directed by Sausage Party's Conrad Vernon, MGM's Addams Family will reimagine the classic horror-comedy clan that debuted in a series of New Yorker cartoons by Charles Addams. As of now, there is no word on other potential cast members. The Jackal Group will produce the film, and Cinesite Studios (The Star) will create the computer animation.

The film is being produced by Gail Berman, Vernon, and Alex Schwartz, and executive produced by Kevin Miserocchi and Andrew Mittman.

The Addams Family will open in theaters on October 11th 2019, where it will go up against Are You Afraid of the Dark? and The Goldfinch. Those followed the popular TV series in the 1960s that starred John Astin, as well as an animated series in the early 1970s.

Isaac has always been a fan favourite for the role, what with his uncanny resemblance to Raul Julia, who played the Addams patriarch in the last film.
