Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain insists Philippe Coutinho is focused on Liverpool

"If we can keep doing that and keep getting good results, it keeps everyone fresh and competition for places high", the England global said.

The midfielder made the move to Anfield in the summer after reportedly turning down Chelsea and despite a hard start to life at Liverpool, struggling to get into the team in his favoured midfield position, it seems that he's finally won manager Jurgen Klopp over and made improvements in his game.

The 25-year-old missed the start of the season with a back problem, but has been outstanding since his return and it was his superb strike that set Liverpool on their way at the Vitality Stadium.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain defended team-mate Philippe Coutinho from questioning over his future in a post-game interview on Sunday.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has sent a message of thanks to Liverpool fans after helping the Reds thrash AFC Bournemouth 4-0 at Dean Court this afternoon. We have so many things to play for.

"I'm trying my best to", he said in response to questions that he is now becoming a "Klopp player".

"He gives his all every game and that's all we can ask from him".

"Phil's a Liverpool player right now and he's doing really well for us", said the Ox.

In-form Egypt forward Salah is the division's leading scorer with 14 goals and now has 20 in all competitions following his fine run and finish on the south coast. "There's more to come from me". Everyone is winning up there, very often, so we need to carry on and stay on track. But obviously it's for him easy in the moment to finish the situations than for other players.
