Arsenal vs. Newcastle: Premier League highlights and recap

Two of these results have been away draws, meaning their record on the road reads two wins out of nine.

With eight games without a win, including seven defeats, the Magpies are under tremendous pressure.

Benitez's side are now without a win in their last nine Premier League matches and are in serious danger of relegation. It is important to note that Arsenal are not playing badly and I think they have been quite unlucky not to win more games.

"When you do not score the second goal, you have to suffer".

Arsenal will be without Theo Walcott and Aaron Ramsey due to injury. His compatriot Per Mertesacker could return to the starting lineup, if he is not fit enough.

Newcastle, are missing midfielder Jonjo Shelvey, who is banned after his red card against Everton. In his place, Isaac Hayden should return against his former club. It is reported that striker Alexandre Lacazette could also set to miss out.

Full-back Paul Dummett has made the squad and is available for the first time since the opening day of the campaign following a hamstring injury.

The Gunners have only had a longer winning run against Manchester City (11 between August 1994 and September 2004). Why have Arsenal done well at home and not away?

In the other Premier League games on Saturday, Huddersfield Town thrashed Watford 4-1 while Burnley drew goalless at Brighton.

Clutching at straws or is this the best time to play Arsenal?

Mesut Ozil broke the deadlock on 23 minutes as he volleyed into the roof of the net following a poor headed clearance by a Newcastle defender.

"We saw it past year with Palace when they went to Chelsea and went to Liverpool, who would have thought they'd win them games?". Apart from that one blip, the Gunners have been imperious at home, with a flawless record in their first eight home games.

Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez said: "For us, every game is a challenge and an opportunity to get three points".

Arsenal, on the other hand, must win this game.
