(CBS12) - The body of a missing 4-year-old girl has been found, Port St. Lucie police announced.

About 24 hours later, a U.S. Marshal in a kayak in the pond discovered what would later be identified as Chelsea's body.

A release from authorities told of Chelsea drowning after becoming disorientated and running straight into the pond.

Offered Port St. Lucie Police Chief John Bolduc, 'It's a tremendous tragedy'.

According to Chelsea's family, the 4-year-old was a non-verbal special needs child who became disoriented when she wandered away from home. There is new video that police have that persuaded that she went out and just meandered into the lake.

Noel, who is autistic and nonverbal, ran out of her home on Southwest Keats Street near Southwest Becker Road Saturday night. An autopsy was expected to be performed to determine the exact cause of Chelsea Noels death. A dive team searched that pond for Noel this morning, but there was no sign of the toddler.
