Brady expected to miss rest of the season

Brady damaged his right knee during last Saturday's Premier League game with Leicester and had an operation on Wednesday to fix a torn patella tendon.

Now, The Clarets have released an official statement on their star winger and unfortunately, Dyche's initial assessment was correct with Brady set to undergo surgery and will be out for a "substantial" period of time. Examinations afterward revealed the full extent of the injury to the tendon, and the midfielder will need a long-term recovery lasting into next summer.

Brady has been a key creative outlet and dead-ball specialist during Burnley's rise to seventh in the Premier League table, but Dyche wants others to step forward in his absence.

Burnley midfielder Robbie Brady will be sidelined for a significant period as he prepares to undergo surgery to fix a patellar tendon tear in his left knee, the Premier League club said on Wednesday. "I spoke to him briefly and he's fine, he understands it".

"It always amazes me". It would be too general.

"He will be moving very quickly. It doesn't change anything in the sense that, it's an ongoing thing for us - recruitment", said Dyche.

"He will be given all the time and care he needs on his recovery and supported throughout from all of us at Burnley Football Club". "I think he's moulded into what we do as a group and his part within that", said Dyche.

"[It's] probably favourable in the sense that he came in and a number of new players came in, so he could work with them fresh, instead of with somebody else's group".

"They are a good club, they are a different club to when I left, but they are a good club".
