De Gea the saving grace for Mourinho

Mourinho tortured again his best enemy leaving the Arsenal coach with no response against United's firepower.

Goalkeeper Petr Cech said on arsenal.com: "The game was decided at the start with our two mistakes and they scored".

Leaders City are eight points clear of second-placed United ahead of their first meeting this season at Old Trafford and a win would open up an 11-point advantage at the top.

"It was phenomenal game. I thought, 'Surely he is not built for the physicality of the Premier League?'" said Redknapp in his column for the Mail. "Arsenal played in some periods fantastic attacking football - creating difficulties for us". He brilliantly denied Alexis Sanchez at point blank range as United secured all three points at the Emirates. "They probably had about four strikers on the pitch so it was a case of digging in and making sure, even the attacking players, were doing their job and everyone to a man was brilliant". There is no team who has won a title without a great goalkeeper between the sticks.

Mourinho was delighted with the goals but all pointed to his all-round performance for the team, and says he has taken on board what they worked on in pre-season. "I leave for you the Lukaku situation with Koscielny, I leave for you the Arsenal players on the grass".

"We played well but there is nothing more frustrating than when you have that quality of performance and nothing to show for it at the end".

"I think that was one to enjoy, for fans watching the game and for us as players". "Despite being 2-0 down we should have come back - we had enough chances. But you can not make the mistakes we made at the beginning".
