Death Stranding gets stranger somehow in this new trailer

The video stars a virtual recreation of The Walking Dead star Norman Reedus, who along with some other characters faces off against mysterious invisible monsters. He's not alone, however; he and the rest of the Bridges-branded crew are seen extracting the life out of other men (including their fellow team members) as part of a odd, covert operation.

For as much as that explains what happened in this new trailer, it does absolutely nothing to explain why any of anything happened. We also see a member of the team stabbing himself to death; Norman Reedus' character floating underwater, alongside his crew mates; and the return of the baby whom we first saw in the game's very first trailer. There is still no game play footage, but based on the trailers it's safe to say that the game will feature plenty of Kojima's infamously weird ideas. As you can expect, the video was on the unusual side. "Then came the next explosion".

Mads Mikkelsen and Norman Reedus must be having a hell of time trying to figure out just what the heck is going on.

A brief hint at the game's story reveals the world of Death Stranding was hit by an explosion, one that gave birth to some kind of life-form.
