Jaguars listing RB Fournette as questionable towards Texans

Jacksonville Jaguars rookie running back Leonard Fournette, who has already missed a couple of games this season for differing reasons, has been ruled out of the team's game against the Houston Texans.

Ankle injuries then limited Fournette to just seven games during his junior campaign, but he still managed to finish with 843 yards while finding the end zone eight times as a rusher. He's seventh in the league in rushing entering Week 15 (923 yards), and fifth in carries (231), with five 100-yard games to go with solid production as a pass catcher (29 receptions).

Jaguars Head Coach Doug Marrone was asked Sunday if Fournette had reached the point that he could play without practicing during the week. There had previously been talk of Fournette playing despite missing practice all week. From Weeks 1-11 the Texans only allowed one rushing touchdown to a running back, which happened to be Fournette in Week 1. Houston's defense is a mess right now, outside of the play of Jadeveon Clowney.

Injuries have become a concern in his rookie year, however.

The Jaguars can clinch their first playoff appearance since 2007 with a victory Sunday, and Marrone said he was pleased with preparation leading to the game. I've never doubted that.
