Jazz C Gobert out 3-4 weeks

Jazz C Gobert out 3-4 weeks

Perhaps this is simply not Rudy Gobert's year.

It's a tough break for the Jazz, and especially for Gobert, who earlier this season missed 11 games after suffering a bone bruise in his right knee. The 7-1 center will be reevaluated in two weeks, further updates will be provided when appropriate.

X-rays were negative, but an MRI on Saturday revealed the damage.

However, they bounced back in an enormous way last night by toppling the Boston Celtics by a score of 107-95 despite losing both Rudy Gobert and Derrick Favors to injury early in the contest. He's still one of the NBA's best rim-protecting big men, but he's struggled to find his way on offense, which makes this time away from the team even worse. If they can come close to that type of record during his absence, Utah should be fine.

With a record of 14-15, the Jazz now holds the ninth seed in the Western Conference.

It was a much-needed statement win over the team that ultimately won the Gordon Hayward sweepstakes, much to the dismay of several Jazz fans.

Still, it's important that Gobert gets - and remains - healthy for the stretch run. Hopefully that changes soon.
