Manchester United best and worst case scenario for Champions League knockout stage

Manchester United best and worst case scenario for Champions League knockout stage

Considering their blistering start to the Premier League season, Manchester City's European escapades have been even more impressive.

It's a bit of a difference but, honestly, when you go into the last 16 of the Champions League, you have to face big, big teams and we have to show our level.

We will remind that on Wednesday, December 6, is the only representative of Ukraine Donetsk "Shakhtar" will try to win a ticket to the playoffs of the Champions League: our website holds online text of "Shakhtar" - "Manchester city".

Teams from the same country cannot draw each other, nor can teams who played each other in the group stage. You have to play a lot of games, but when you arrive at the final stage to play for quarter-finals, semi-finals, the English teams have a lot of games in their legs.

Teams from the same group or national association can not be drawn against one another, so, for example, Manchester United can not be drawn against the likes of Manchester City.

If only one team makes the semifinals or none reach the final, something no English club has done since 2012, then it will be seen as a blown opportunity instead of a banner year.

"It doesn't always mean that [it's easy] in the Premier League as we all know".

As such, the Blues will now get a more hard draw in the next round of the competition.

Four teams have transferred to the UEFA Europa League round of 32 after finishing third in their UEFA Champions League groups. Clubs from the Bundesliga and Serie A have provided the sternest competition. The Premier League right now is completely different in the depth of quality in comparison to the other top leagues in Europe.

Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid both progressed all the way through to the final that season with Zinedine Zidane's side triumphing on penalties, but Sevilla and Valencia crashed out in the groups.
