Manchester United vs CSKA Moscow 5 December 2017: UCL Preview and Prediction

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho says Paul Pogba will start against CSKA Moscow despite his red card against Arsenal, while David De Gea and Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be rested.

Ibrahimovic returned recently from a cruciate knee ligament injury, making appearances as a substitute against Newcastle, Brighton, Basel and Watford. "[Nemanja] Matic is injured and when I say he is injured, he is injured".

Speaking to MUTV at the Aon Training Complex on Monday, the boss confirmed Nemanja Matic is definitely injured and unavailable for Tuesday night's European tie at Old Trafford.

"Zlatan needs sometimes hard work on the muscular area that supports the knee. To work really hard for a certain period of time, he can not play in these days, so we chose to do that after Watford (a 4-2 win last week).", he further added.

'He's divided between the gym and the pitch and he will be out again tomorrow.

How far the likes of Fellaini, Bailly and Jones are from full recovery remains a mystery, but with Pogba missing out over the weekend you expect them to be rushed back for what promises to be a defining game in the context of this season. Sooner or later it will arrive because he deserves it.

I suspect Mauricio Pochettino is getting a bit frustrated with a few players and I think Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen will get rested.

Dortmund, which reached the final in 2013, is already out after failing to win any of its group games and is now competing with APOEL for the consolation of Europa League qualification from Group H. Ahead of its visit to Real Madrid tomorrow, Dortmund has just two points from five games, the same as Cypriot team APOEL.

"It's the match that matters". He plays tomorrow. All the other players who didn't play the last match they are still out. "But he's very happy to play and to try to keep his momentum because since he was back from injury, he's been phenomenal". Because he deserves that opportunity.

However, they are eight points behind table-topping City in the Premier League table so Mourinho will not take any chances with Ibrahimovic. If he starts I'd be backing him to score, especially with Leigh Griffiths going off the boil.
