Overwatch Gets New Currency For Overwatch League Skins In 2018

Of course, one of the major features in the Overwatch League is the teamplay.

The new currency called League Token will be introduced for players to purchase a team uniform skin of your favorite Overwatch League team.

In the announcement, Nanzer noted that Overwatch has already announced the concept at Blizzcon and it will be effective early next year for all the team players in Overwatch League.

The Overwatch League has expanded out to 12 teams, and from January 10 you'll be able to buy skins for each of them to show off your allegiance.

The moment Blizzard announced team-specific Overwatch skins as part of its effort to make the game more watchable, it was pretty much inevitable that they'd become available to the game's skin-starved general populace as well. Nanzer said that Blizzard chose to implement this system "to ensure that the correct amounts from your League-related purchases go towards the teams". The uniforms will be available for all 26 heroes in the game. Players can represent their favorite team by wearing the uniform skin in the game.

Take note that the Overwatch League tokens will be only used to buy in-game content for the Overwatch League.

For the first month following the update of League Tokens, all players who play Overwatch on any platform will be given free League Tokens for purchasing one League team uniform.
