Power outage delays kick-off between Stoke City and West Ham

The Hammers signed Joe Hart from Manchester City on a season-long loan deal in July and former West Ham boss Slaven Bilic made it clear to Adrian that the England worldwide would be the club's first choice between the sticks.

With Bilic I saw everything very dark, he told me that Joe was going to be number one and in the first three months, without playing in the league, I had a very bad time, I was frustrated. As well as claiming West Ham turned down approaches from Newcastle United and Crystal Palace during the summer, Adrian opened up about his situation.

There was strong interest from the North East side for the services of Adrian, with Rafa Benitez looking to sign an experienced goalkeeper to add to his squad, but the move failed to materialise.

The Scot, who had to play Adrian against Manchester City earlier in the month as Hart was ineligible to play against his parent club, persisted with the former Real Betis man for the games versus Chelsea and Arsenal.

"Moyes has placed the pillars from the base and we have a great squad".

"We have organised really well to be good defensively and now we have to show we can put players in attacking positions, get them on the ball and take our chances when we create them".

Adrian hasn't exactly been keeping his head down recently, clearly thrilled to be, as he sees it, West Ham's rightful first choice goalkeeper returned to his throne.
