Several Democratic senators to Al Franken: Resign

After days tentative rebukes and a call for an ethics investigation, Democratic senators are beginning to call for Sen.

Franken, in his statement, said the idea he would claim such conduct as a right as an entertainer was "preposterous".

The allegations against Franken began in mid-November when Los Angeles radio anchor Leeann Tweeden accused him of forcibly kissing her during a 2006 USO tour.

The woman, who was not identified by name, said Franken pursued her after her boss had left and she was collecting her belongings.

The calls come as a seventh woman is accusing Franken of harassment, telling a news outlet that he tried to forcibly kiss her three years before he took office.

"Enough is enough. The women who have come forward are courageous and I believe them". "It was very quick and I think my brain had to work really hard to be like 'Wait, what is happening?' But I knew whatever was happening was not right and I ducked", the woman told Politico.

Two of the woman's former colleagues told Politico that the woman told them about the incident - including Franken's comment that he had the right to kiss her. Franken, a former "Saturday Night Live" performer who was a host on the now-defunct "Air America" radio network at the time, allegedly followed up by telling her it was his "right as an entertainer".

"It is clear that Al Franken has engaged in a pattern of egregious and unacceptable behavior toward women, and he should resign", she said. He is now under a Senate ethics review for his behavior, which he said he will "fully" cooperate with.

Stephanie Kremplin, a U.S. Army veteran, told CNN Franken cupped her breast during a photo opportunity when he was visiting American troops in the Middle East with the USO in December 2003.

Several female Democratic senators publicly called on Sen.

Franken is now cooperating with an ethics committee investigation of his behavior related to several previous allegations of sexual misconduct.
