Soul Calibur 6 Announced At The Game Awards

Soul Calibur 6 Announced At The Game Awards

We all knew it was coming. Whether Soulcalibur and Mega Man can follow in their footsteps next year remains to be seen; but it's good to see that these games aren't abandoned.

Today, during The Game Awards, after a somewhat freaky introduction by writer/director Josef Fares (gotta love it), a new trailer premiered for A Way Out, and a release date also followed - we'll be able to break out starting on March 23, 2018. Built using Unreal Engine 4, Soul Calibur 6 is being developed by some of the team that worked on Tekken 7.

In keeping with all The Game Awards announcements there wasn't much substantial information to go on, with the video below showing a brief fight between series mainstays Mitsurugi and Sophitia.

Thus far we only get to see two combatants duke it out, but the game's graphics and visuals are already taking us right to the edges of our seats.

The game is set for a release in 2018, and will be headed to PlayStation, PC (through Steam), and Xbox One.
